New York City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. People from all over the country, as well as all over the world, come to the city to see one of the most vibrant places that exists. However, it can be a bit overwhelming to decide where you might want to stay when it comes time to plan your actual trip. There are so many hotels in Manhattan, and there are also quite a few different places to stay. While Manhattan is a relatively small area, there are lots of different places you can stay while on your vacation. In fact, you might not even decide to stay in Manhattan, you might choose to stay elsewhere.
Here's a few of the different choices on where to stay in Manhattan.
Midtown (Time Square Location)
Perhaps the most vibrant section of Manhattan, Times Square is one of the cities most famous spots. The area is also home to lots of luxury hotels and you can get a room overlooking the world famous lights and sights of the crossroads of the world.
Not only is this a spectacular place to stay for the sights, it's also one of the most convenient places when it comes to restaurants and nightlife. There is an abundance of theater in the area (the rightly famous Theater district with musicals and Broadway dramas) but there are also lots of big restaurants and musical venues to think of. The hotels in this area tend to be large and you can find both luxury hotels as well as discounts.
Brooklyn (Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights)
If you are looking to spend a long time in New York City while on vacation, and you are open to staying outside of Manhattan, then you can find a real bargain by looking to Brooklyn. While Brooklyn is huge, the area you will want to focus on are the neighborhoods closest to Manhattan. They not only are affordable and close to the city, they give you a really great skyline view of Manhattan; one that you might only get to see on a postcard. Not only that, but you can also get to tour around Brooklyn, not just Manhattan.
There is a wealth of history in Brooklyn, ranging from old brownstones and classical restaurants, to museums and beautiful parks. And you can always walk or cab over the Brooklyn bridge and travel into Manhattan to do the requisite sightseeing.
